This event marks the beginning of the Garden Night programme at Camden Art Centre, setting the tone for reflection, connection, and artistic exploration. 

The preview of akâmi– will conclude with a live performance by Strength NIA, an experimental punk band whose sound is deeply rooted in the Irish experience. 

Originating from Doire/Derry, Strength NIA has developed a distinctive discography shaped by an Irish cultural perspective and decolonial ethos. The themes embedded in their music—resistance to colonialism, familial lineages, linguistic erasure and institutional violence, particularly within educational systems—resonate strongly with Duane Linklater’s and Tanya Lukin Linklater‘s artistic practices.  

Duane and Tanya first discovered Strength NIA through a feature in The New York Times and have followed the band’s evolution ever since. Deeply moved by their sound and message, they invited the band to perform as part of their exhibition’s public programme.
